Words can Change You

That day was incredible, I must say thanks to Raphael, he was very brave and just told me what I needed. It all happened one day when I bothered him too much. This is the story of my life, the story of Jake Cold.
This is just the story of a boy called Jake and his classmate, Raphael. Jake was a guy who just wanted to call the attention of everybody. As he was very shy, he started to bother many people, because he thought that it would make him popular. He was the typical example of bullying; he never stopped bothering other guys or just hiding their things. Raphael, a guy who studied a lot and was very fat, was the main object of Jake’s laughter. Every single day he was bullied by him, so he didn´t want to come to school. The 4th of July, Rapha was in a very bad situation, his mother was ill so he hadn’t studied for the final test, and that was the day when Jake decided to bother him most. At the end of the day Raphael went back home crying and not willing to live.
After that day, the 5th of July, Raphael only thought of dying. But then, as he knew he was a very intelligent and good guy, he decided to tell Jake something that was going to change the rest of his life.
“Hey Jake, come with me just for a minute, I must tell you something very important.” Jake wanted to listen so he would have another chance to laugh at him. “I think that maybe bullying is not the solution for your shyness,” said Raphael, “or for your problems in your house. Please stop bothering me, my mum is ill and I can´t come to school if you bother me every single day. I will help you with all your problems, you will think I’m crazy but we can be friends, no matter what you did to me or how many times you bullied me. Let´s start from scratch, I’m just a person like you, we are all brothers Jake.”
After listening to that, Jake was surprised. He never thought Raphael could adopt such an understanding approach. He started to cry and felt very proud of Rapha, who had been very brave. He accepted his offer and they became friends.
This is just an example of one of the millions of cases of bullying. There is just one way to put an end to it: NEVER KEEP QUIET, OPEN YOUR MOUTH AND TELL THE OTHERS WHAT BOTHERS YOU.
