ANOTHER DAY ALIVE
Poem about the Holocaust

There’s still the smell of horror,
Surrounding my heart.
Death was so close,
That every day was a new start.

The whole day we had to work,
Freezing because of the cold,
Plus the cold caused by injustice,
To gain a piece of bread.

It was a time of pain and fear,
And keeping silence in order to survive.
The only thing we had in mind,
Was to be one more day alive
