Arseo, the Demigod
Katrina was a young woman from the city of Sparta. It was the year CLX B.C. She was too pretty for the men that wanted to marry her. In those days, nobody disobeyed the wish of the Great Brothers: Hades, god of the Underworld, Poseidon, Lord of the Seas, Earthquakes and Horses, and Zeus, king of the gods and ruler of Mount Olympus; god of the Sky and Thunder.
One summer night, Zeus met Katrina and together made a son, half human and half god.
Arseo, son of the King of the Sky and Katrina, showed himself to be very skillful in the use of weapons; he also had an extraordinary strength and speed. When he was eight was taken away from his home to the customary training in Sparta. During the journey he heard about the Trojan war and felt very interested in it.
The years passed and Arseo became a new man. He had the features of a true warrior, and an excellent body. When he arrived home he met an old man with a beard who demonstrated great power.
-“Zeus!”- said Arseo
-“Son” – answered the god- “I came here to tell you three important things, the first one is that your mother was killed by Hades’s son, Asrag, the second one is that you will find weapons and a sword made by the god Hephaestus in your room, as a reward for your courage during all these years. The last one, I’m sorry for all these years I have been absent, but you must know that I‘ll approve all of your decisions.
And after his words to his son, he suddenly disappeared.

One day Hermes, messenger of the Gods, god of Commerce and Thieves, told Arseo the reason why Asrag had killed his mother and where he could find him. Hermes also said that the idea of killing his mother was Hades’s so as to arouse Arseo’s desire to start a war between demigods and gods, so he would have a chance to take the throne of the Olympus, which belonged to Zeus.
So Arseo went on the search of Asrag to have his revenge. He found him near Mount Olympus. He was dressed in black, with an evil smile in his face. When they were at a short distance from each other, a horrible voice said- “Don’t forget about me!”
-“Twins!” said Arseo surprised.
-“You are the first after our father to know about us, but the secret will prevail”. The battle started, Arseo was a great warrior but he was in disadvantage, because they were two. Arseo couldn’t last much longer, but he realized that one twin had put his shield down and Arseo killed him. In the precise moment he was killing him, the other twin attacked Arseo with his sword. He almost killed him but in the last second he gave a very loud cry and a ray killed the second twin.
Zeus noticed his son was dying on earth and descended to have his last word with him.
-“It´s done! ”, Arseo said.
-“It was perfect son, Katrina would have been proud! ”
A tear fell from Zeus’s eyes and he shouted with anger swearing revenge on Hades himself.
