A Dangerous World Cup
In 1930 two friends who lived in Spain travelled to the World Cup in Uruguay. Their names were Jorge Perez and Maxi Henrique, they were from Uruguay, and they were football players.
The first match in the Cup was Uruguay vs. France. It was a difficult game. There were not tickets left. Uruguay won 7-0. The second match was Uruguay vs. Italy and the third one, Uruguay vs. United States. Uruguay won both, the first one 3-0 and the second one 1-0. Jorge and Maxi were really happy. The fans loved them!
The match against United States was very intense, but the one against Argentina was still more intense. Maxi and Jorge went to the match to play in the reserves. During the match, two players got injured and the football trainer asked them to play, and they accepted. Argentina won 4-2. At the end of the match, the Uruguayan fans were attacked by the Argentinean fans, they were angry because they had lost the World Cup for the first time in history. Maxi and Jorge had to run to the forest, escaping from the angry fans. They ran all day and night. Finally they found an abandoned house. It was very big and black. It had a garden in the back with tombs and dead flowers. They rang the bell but nobody opened the door. They rang the bell again, and the door opened on its own. Then they heard a voice that said: - Run out of this house if you don’t want to be dead!-.
They wanted to escape, but the door closed behind them. They went upstairs and they entered a room. They saw a picture of an old person; they supposed it was the former owner of the house. Next to the picture there was a bookcase with many books. They were surprised to see a book about a World Cup still to come: Brazil
2014.They took the book immediately, they were anxious to learn which country was going to win the World Cup in 2014.
When they moved the book from the shelf, the floor opened under their feet. It was a secret trap. They fell into it. They entered a tunnel and finally they found themselves in the forest again.
After this experience, they were very afraid, and they swore and swore they would never play a football match for the rest of their lives.
